Valve Tests
Class V Testing
Optional procedure where the valve is tested for stringent “bubble tight” sealing with air, per FCI 91-2-2004.
Valves with an optional Class V test:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
Oxygen Cleaning
This option prepares your valve for use in typical commercial oxygen systems. Components are cleaned and degreased. After cleaning, valves are rinsed to remove all surface contaminants. Black light testing is performed to verify removal of all trace oil and particulates. Our oxygen cleaning procedure is available upon request.
Valves with optional Oxygen Cleaning:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, EX40, ER Valves (up to 2")
Cryogenic Cleaning
Provides the valve with a necessary design modification and special cleaning for Cryogenic fluids.
Valves with an optional Cryogenic Cleaning:
EH70, ER Valves
Hydrogen Service
Optional test done prior to shipment that checks for bubble tight seat leakage with Helium. Usually specific to Hydrogen and Helium service requirements, this is an optional and more stringent test performed by our production team.
Valves with an optional Hydrogen Service test:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
ETL Listed
Option provides added testing for the valve’s solenoid. The ETL Listed Mark shows that your product has been independently tested by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and that it has met the minimum requirements of widely accepted product safety standards for hazardous locations. See more info here.
Valves with an optional ETL Listing:
EH70, ER Valves
Coil Options
Higher Power Coil (22 Watt) for Higher Pressure Requirements
22 Watt coil supplied in lieu of a standard 10 watt coil will deliver added power to the valve, enabling it to open/close at higher pressures outlined in catalog. This coil is standard on the EH30, and only available as an option on the EH40 and EH50.
Higher Pressure Valves:
EH40, EH50
72" Lead Length
Provides additional lead length option, instead of the standard 18” length.
Valves with optional 72" Lead Length:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
Explosion Proof (NEMA 7/9)
Standard Coil type of all EH Series valves, which calls for the construction and operation of a coil, which ensures that explosive sparks cannot escape to the outside and thus trigger an explosion.
Valves with an standard Explosion Proof Coil:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
General Service (NEMA 4/4X)
Non-Hazardous Area
In lieu of the standard “Explosion Proof” coil, you may opt for a coil classification that is designated as a “General Service” coil. This offers the option to reduce the cost of the overall valve price in situations where the standard “Explosion Proof” valve is not required.
Valves with an optional General Service Coil:
EH30, EH40, EH50
Din Connector (NEMA 4/4X)
The Din Connector (43650A/ISO 4400) allows a quick electrical connection to the coil utilizing a “3-prong” power connection to the coil. Gives added flexibility in providing another electrical connection option to your application and environment. Coil is rated for General Service.
Valves with an optional Din Connector:
EH30, EH40, EH50
1/4" Tab (Spade)
A coil power connection option, that allows you to connect the valve’s coil to your specific power connection type. Coil is rated for General Service.
Valves with an optional 1/4" Tab (spade):
EH30, EH40, EH50
NEMA 4X
A coating is applied to the external surfaces of the coil to improve its corrosion protection.
Valves with NEMA 4X:
EH70 (optional), ER Valves (standard)
Screw Terminal
A coil power connection option, that allows you to connect the valve’s coil to your specific power connection type. Coil is rated for General Service.
Valves with an optional Screw Terminal:
EH30, EH40, EH50
Various Connections
SAE Port
Multiple sized connections (per SAE J1926) that utilize an O-ring for sealing to the valve inlet and outlet. Gives added flexibility in providing another valve connection option in lieu of NPT, Flanged, etc.
Valves with an optional SAE Port:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves (up to 1")
Tube Connector
This connection attaches to directly to high pressure tubing. It allows the customer more connection flexibility by utilizing standard Swagelok® connections.
Valves with an optional Tube Connector:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves (up to 2")
Valve Options
Integrated Check Valve
Option to provide the EH50 valve with protection against back pressure. Gives customer a “ONE” piece integrated check valve built into their high pressure solenoid valve. No need for separate check valve purchase.
Valves with optional Integrated Check Valve:
EH50
316 Stainless Steel Valve Body
Option of making the body of the valve with 316SS instead of the standard Anodized Aluminum valve body that comes on the EH50 Series valve. Option provides customer flexibility in choice of construction materials where service requirements and material compatibility may call for a change from the standard design.
Valves with optional Stainless Steel Body:
EH50
Normally Open
Normally Open design – The valve will close when the coil is energized (powered). This option provides a Normally Open design in lieu of “standard” Normally Closed design – (AC and DC voltages are available for EH30, Only AC voltage available for the EH40-04 and the EH50)
Normally Open Valves:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
Single Switch
Option adds a SPDT limit switch to indicate whether the valve is open or closed. The switch is contacted by the piston when the valve is closed, but it can provide feedback when the switch is pressed and released.
Position switch specifications can be found here
.
Valves with optional Single Switch:
EH70, ER Valves
Viton O-rings
Option to replace “standard” O-rings (commonly Buna) with Viton material which is more compatible in Higher Temperature service and provides more chemical resistance (typically used for petroleum services). Viton O-ring option can decrease down time of valve due to maintenance of O-ring replacement due to degradation of the rubber.
Valves with optional Viton O-Rings:
EH40, EH50, ER Valves
Manual Override
Normally closed EH70's can be configured with an optional manual override. This allows users turn the hand wheel CLOCKWISE, which directly pushes the main piston to the open state. It WILL NOT force the valve closed.
Manual Override info can be found here
.
Valves with optional Manual Override option:
EH70
Miscellaneous Options
Stainless Steel Tags
A stainless steel tag is an externally attached plate, which can be engraved with any customer supplied information. It is best to attach to a valve operating in environments where the standard sticker label can be damaged or worn/weathered off over time. Most common information that is requested on a tag is: Pressure, Wattage, Serial Number, Valve Part Number and PO#.
Valves with optional Stainless Steel Tags:
EH30, EH40, EH50, EH70, ER Valves
Universal Mount
Option includes modification to the valve to allow it to be installed in any orientation. It provides mounting flexibility to ease customer’s installation in a wide range of piping schematics and designs that may require the valve to be mounted in a variety of possible orientations. Without this option, valve must be mounted with solenoid vertical and on top. Universal mount is standard on the EH70.
Valves with optional Universal Mount:
EH30, EH40 (Normally Open Only), EH50 (Normally Open Only), EH70
